TIPS for successful audition:
1. DO come prepared - pick a song NOW & practice, practice, practice.
Make sure you practice without the vocal track so you aren't relying on that for the lyrics.
Work on pitch, tempo, lyrics & presentation - we want to see your personality shine!
2. DON'T approach the artistic team following audition & don't ask for redo. Bring your best the first time out.
3. DO communicate tempo and start and end points to the accomaniest - don't be shy!!
4. DO bring music in a format easy for the accompaniest to use copied sheets taped together in a row are
MUCH better than thick books that won't stay open.
5. DO be polite.
6. Sheet Music (16 bars) & Musical Theater songs appropriate to the character you are seeking to audition for
are best. Style, era & composer and what YOU can do well are all things to consider when making your
choice
7. Absolutely NO VOCALS if you are using a CD or iTunes track. "Karoake" style cds are widely available
from Walmart or iTunes. Sheet music is available from musicnotes.com or Pedrini's on Katella.
8. Dress neatly - you can wear something to suggest a character or personality, but nothing "costume".
9. Wear something easy to dance in for Dance Callbacks - close toed shoes required.
10. See Audition Process pdf above for additional information
11. Be confident! God's Grace is enough!!
